FAQ
Below are some frequently asked questions that may assist you in making your decision to fight back against baldness.

What is a men's hair system? A men's hair system is a non-surgical solution for hair loss that typically involves a custom-made hairpiece designed to blend seamlessly with the existing hair on a man's head. These systems are composed of real human hair or synthetic fibers and are designed to enhance a man's appearance by providing the look of a full head of hair.

Do hair systems for men look good? Yes, absolutely. A hair system can look amazing and transform a man's overall looks and help restore their confidence by helping them rebuild their self esteem . In most cases, a men’s hair system looks as natural on them as their own hair once did. It would be hard to tell the difference by appearance only.
What type of baldness do hair systems cover? A men's hair system covers the areas where baldness occurs, i.e. receding hair line, crown, thinning top and total baldness.
How long does a hair system last? The lifespan of a men's hair system can vary based on several factors, including the quality of the system, how well it is maintained, and the attachment methods used. Generally, here are some typical durations: Synthetic Hair Systems: These usually last around 4 to 6 weeks. They require more frequent replacement, as synthetic fibers can wear out and lose their appearance over time. Human Hair Systems: These tend to last longer, typically from 6 months to up to a year, depending on care. They can withstand more styling and look more natural. Maintenance: Regular cleaning, proper storage, and avoiding excessive heat or harsh chemicals can extend the life of the hair system. Attachment Methods: Systems attached with tape or adhesive may need to be replaced more often due to wear, while options like clip-in systems can also impact longevity. Proper upkeep and consulting with a professional can help maximize the lifespan of a hair system.
Will my hair system fall off randomly? While a well-fitted and properly maintained hair system should not come off randomly, there are situations where it might become loose or detach: Improper Attachment: If the system is not securely attached, it may come off, especially during physical activities. Adhesive Weakness: Over time, the adhesive can lose its effectiveness due to sweat, oil, or environmental factors, increasing the risk of detachment. Wear and Tear: Regular use can lead to the weakening of attachment points, particularly if the hair system is not regularly maintained. Environmental Factors: Humidity, water exposure, or excessive heat can affect how well the system stays in place, depending on the attachment method used. Hair Growth: As natural hair grows, it can affect the fit of the hair system, making it feel less secure. To minimize the risk of a hair system coming off, it's important to follow proper maintenance routines, use quality adhesives, and consult with a professional stylist for regular check-ups and adjustments.

Can I shower with my new hair system? Yes—you can shower with a men’s hair system, as long as it’s properly attached and you follow a few rules. Here’s what matters most: ✅ When it’s safe to shower Bond is fully cured After a fresh install, wait: 24 hours for tape 24–48 hours for glue This allows the adhesive to fully set. System is designed for daily wear Most modern lace, skin, or hybrid systems are made to be shower-safe. 🚿 How to shower safely Use lukewarm water (hot water weakens adhesive) Gentle, sulfate-free shampoo (1–2 times per week is usually enough) Pat dry—don’t rub with a towel Condition mid-length to ends only, not at the base Avoid heavy water pressure directly on the hairline ⚠️ Things to avoid Showering too frequently (shortens system lifespan) Hot showers or steam rooms Scrubbing the base or hairline Applying conditioner or oils near the attachment area
Can I swim with my new hair system? Yes—you can swim with a men’s hair system, but a few precautions are important so it stays secure and lasts longer. ✅ Before swimming Wait at least 24–48 hours after installation (critical for glue bonds) Secure attachment (waterproof tape or strong adhesive works best) Wet the hair with clean water first This reduces how much chlorine or salt it absorbs. Apply a leave-in conditioner (mid-lengths to ends only) 🏊 While swimming Swimming in pools, oceans, and lakes is fine Avoid diving or rough water play if possible If you swim often, a swim cap offers extra protection (optional) 🚿 After swimming (very important) Rinse immediately with fresh water Use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo if you were in chlorine or salt water Condition the hair, avoiding the base/attachment area Pat dry gently—don’t rub ⚠️ Things to watch out for Chlorine & salt dry the hair (they don’t usually damage the base, but they shorten hair life) Hot tubs & saunas are risky—heat + steam can weaken the bond Frequent swimming may mean more frequent re-attachments Bottom line Swimming won’t make your system fall off if it’s properly bonded—but protecting the hair and adhesive is key.
Is this better than a transplant? Choosing between a men’s hair system and a hair transplant isn’t one-size-fits-all—each has real benefits and trade-offs. The “better” option depends on your goals, budget, timeline, and lifestyle. ✔️ Hair Systems: Pros Instant full head of hair — no waiting Non-surgical and reversible Works even with advanced baldness Flexible style options (length, density, color) Lower upfront cost and commitment No scarring or medical downtime ❗ Cons Not real hair growth Ongoing costs (tapes/glue, replacements) Needs maintenance and care Can feel less natural if poorly fitted ✔️ Hair Transplants: Pros Uses your own hair Hair grows naturally and can be styled normally Long-term solution (often permanent) No routine re-bonds or replacements ❗ Cons Expensive upfront Growth takes time — often 6–12+ months Not ideal if donor hair is limited Surgical risks (infection, scarring, shock loss for existing hair) Results vary by surgeon skill 🧩 When a Hair System Might Be “Better” ✅ You want immediate results ✅ You’re not ready for surgery ✅ You have limited donor hair ✅ You want flexibility (switch styles) ✅ Budget is a concern 🧩 When a Transplant Might Be “Better” ✅ You want permanent biological growth ✅ You want low ongoing maintenance ✅ You have enough donor hair ✅ You’re okay with recovery time and cost
Can I still wear a hat? YES you can still wear a hat. Just make sure the band doesn't rub on the front hairline area to avoid damaging the hair.

What happens if my head itches, can I scratch it? Yes. But not vigorously like you may have done in the past. Remember your hair system has a strong, but very delicate skin (membrane), and can be easily damaged . Yes scratch your head but never use a foreign or sharp object including your nails. Your nails might be broken and sharp at the edges without you knowing it and you could snag or rip the membrane. If you have an itch scratch it by these methods 1. Make the letter C with either hand, now you can TAP hard or soft with your fingertips only. This will effectively get rid of your itch. 2. Take your hand and pat your head where it itches. Either method is safe for the membrane, which will greatly improve the life of you new hair system
What causes my head to itch? Itching with a men’s hair system is very common, and it’s usually caused by one (or a mix) of these factors: Most common causes 1. Adhesive or tape irritation Glues and tapes can irritate the scalp, especially around the temples and hairline Sweat + adhesive = trapped bacteria → itching 2. Dry scalp / product buildup Your natural oils can’t spread normally under a system Adhesive residue, dead skin, and shampoo buildup dry the scalp out 3. Sweat and heat Hair systems trap heat Sweat sitting on the scalp causes itching and sometimes burning 4. Poor scalp prep Not fully cleaning off old glue/tape No scalp protector used before attachment 5. Sensitivity or mild allergy Some people react to certain glues (especially acrylic or solvent-based) 6. Infrequent removal Going too long between cleanings (7–14+ days) almost always causes itch
